Your Games and Settings
The game library and preferences you save are stored in your browser on your device. Opening a local PGN file does not upload it to the ChessIQ server. Stockfish and Maia analysis run in your browser. You can clear your library in ChessIQ or remove all locally saved information through your browser's site-data settings.
Forum Sign-In
You do not need an account to use the board or read the forum. To post, you can sign in with Google or Lichess. Google provides an account identifier, name, and verified email address. Lichess provides an account identifier and username. These details identify your forum contributions and determine editing and moderation permissions. Google and Lichess sign-ins are treated as separate identities.
Google may also return a profile picture; ChessIQ does not retain or display it. ChessIQ does not receive your Google or Lichess password and does not request Gmail or Google Drive access. Provider access tokens are used during sign-in and are not retained in the forum database or sign-in cookie. Google account information is not sold or used for advertising.
Cookies
Sign-in uses secure cookies to complete authentication and prevent forged requests. An encrypted, browser-held session contains your account identifier and name, plus your verified email when using Google. Sessions expire after 24 hours. Signing out clears your ChessIQ session; it does not sign you out of Google or Lichess.
Public Forum Posts
Your posts, replies, chosen display name, and posting times are public. ChessIQ stores those contributions and an internal author identifier in its forum database. Your sign-in email is not included in public forum responses. Do not include passwords or other sensitive information in a post.
Deleting a post hides it from public view; a non-public database record may remain for moderation and recovery. Contact the address below to request removal of forum data associated with your account. We may need to verify that a request concerns your own account.
Hosting and Other Websites
Cloudflare hosts this website, its game collections, and its forum database. Serving and protecting the site involves processing connection information such as IP addresses and request details. Technical errors may be logged to diagnose problems.
Importing public Lichess games sends the requested username and filters to Lichess. Opening an external analysis link sends the position included in that link to its destination. Visiting Google, Lichess, or Wikipedia is also subject to that service's own privacy practices. ChessIQ does not include advertising trackers.
